Joviale, the north Londoner who’s a fan of Destiny’s Child, Eric Satie and Grizzly Bear, uses her musical influences welded with her innate individuality to concoct brilliantly outlandish experimental pop. The new single ‘Storm’ features a primal bass drum littered with persistent shakers and intermittent bongos. Joviale’s vocals are naturally soulful and wholesome, paved over each other at varied pitches. Half way through, the song morphs into a something dancier, where the electronic drums become more feisty and video game synth sounds interrupt. ‘Storm’ is a nourishing, personal stream of consciousness about human interaction with natural elements. -Ellie Rose Davies
